She's here!!
Hooray!! I thought the day would never come. We headed to the hospital on Wed around noon and were sent to triage to see if they were going to admit us or have us come back. 2 1/2 hours later (why do those things always take so long?) they decided that since I was dialated to a 4, I could stay. We got checked in, I had to have some penicillin administered and yaddy-ya-ya. I was given a small dose of pitocin at 5:45 and by 6:45 she was ready to come out. They called the Dr., got the room ready and out she came at 7:13 p.m. She is so lovely (swollen eyes and all!) and we are over the moon with her. She smells so delicious and I can't keep my cheeks off her soft hair. They just smell so yummy, don't they? The recovery and everything is going much smoother than it did with Henry. I just remember feeling so awful, and I was really dreading this part, but all is well. I'm feeling really good.
Chris brought Henry by today to meet his new sister. He had the following to say about it:
1) She cries a lot.
2) He can't sit on the bed by me and the baby because it will make him grumpy.
He was totally uninterested in her (can you tell???) and that is a-ok. He'll come around when he is ready. It's a lot to take in and I'm not going to push all this baby-business on him.
So here's the deets: She was born 5/14, weighed 8 lbs 14 oz, and her height, well it's a mystery. No one can agree. Around 20". And her name? Uh...we still haven't handed in the birth certificate forms. After MUCH deliberation, I think we are going for Margot Ryan Moore. I was really gunning for Tess, but then realized that Tess Moore just didn't have enough syllables. It sounded strange if you said it too fast, like it was a college or a corporation. Chris really wanted Maggie but we wouldn't name her Margaret, we'd name her Magnolia and call her Maggie. In fact before we ever got pregnant, I told him that when we had a girl, I wanted to name her Maggie. I really like/liked the name but for some reason, it wasn't sticking with me this time around. I think it's becoming more popular anyway which was a bit of a turn off for me. I could never get Chris to agree on Olive and Amelia was actually something I originally liked that Chris didn't but he had a change of heart this past week and we had it in our top 5 but we decided against it. So I guess if her name is Margot, you could still call her Maggie. I really don't like not feeling 100% and being up against this deadline. It's completely stressing me out. I just want to be sure because your childs name is a big deal and I don't want to settle for something. I really like Margot. I just don't know if it's right. We are both going to sleep on it and see how we feel in the morning. We don't want to drag it out and have promised ourselves that we are handing in the paperwork before I check out in the morning.
Today is our 10-year wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary, Hon! We got ourselves a family!!
xoxo
**edited to say: She's officially Margot Ryan Moore!

So I'm a little slow on the uptake, but know that I am so thrilled for you 3 and your new little addition. Love the name Margot - I really do. I laughed so hard when I read your latest entry on not loving the name. That feeling has got to be the worst. Anyway, for what it's worth, I love her name - Margot Ryan. It just sounds so good.
Congrats to you and Chris and Henry!
(ps. Sorry I've been a phantom blogger all these days. Are you totally weirded out that I actually commented?)

Oh! Sorry I'm so late but BIG congratulations to your little family -- she's just beautiful!!! So interesting to read about you relationship now with Henry -- I so remember those feelings right before, during, and after we brought #2 home. #1 ws 2 1/2 and I just kept thinking "But he's stil a ba-aby!" Don't worry -- things will change, but there's just something special about that bond with #1 that will endure. Hope you're getting some rest!

Glad to see she's here safe and sound. I just knew she'd be born :). BTW we changed two of our children's names after we sent in the birth certificate info. The name really does have to fit and stick doesn't it.

Wonderful choice. My son is now 27 and he REMEMBERS coming into the room shortly after his sister was born and he was only two years old at the time. He remembers seeing daddy dressed up like a doctor and he remembers looking at the new baby. It's amazing.
Just wait till they get old enough to be friends. And wait until Henry's friends get a load of his beautiful sister! There's so much fun ahead for these siblings.

Congratulations! As I began reading I was going to say that Tessa as opposed to Tess would work with the extra syllable, but then got to the part about Margot and I love it! It's one of those names I've mentioned to Mike before and he always just gives me a look -- like I'm nuts. Which shouldn't be surprising since he thinks that about every girl name on the planet. It's a wonder our girl ever got a name!

Congrats you cute girl! She is so lovely! Glad to hear it went so well. There is nothing better in the whole world then a brand new baby. I love it! So so happy for your new little family.

Congrats, congrats, congrats Moore family. Especially to little Henry who is now officially a BIG brother, albeit a disinterested one! ;)
Morgan she is adorable, and I totally understand the smell thing. Autumn is now five and I can still clearly remember her baby smell... best I could describe was warm fresh cookies, but never any I have ever tasted before. Sadly I can't remember Ariel's but that was 17 years ago and I was so young (barely hanging on at the time)!
Anyway, enjoy it (the smell), enjoy her, enjoy this special time with your family. Margot is a lovely name, unique but not odd. A great mix.
Question (for whenever you get time to answer, no rush) - what's the green thing on her ankle? Never seen anything like it here in Toronto.

Congratulations Moore family, she is certainly a doll! I do love the name Margot. For me it captures both intelligence and creativity with a youthful, and grown-up sound. It is lovely. I also love the 'M' alliteration with mommy Morgan's name. (And I also adore 'Ryan' as a girl name, albeit my husband's name is Ryan so for us it would have to be a middle name as well...although we aren't even thinking in that direction quite yet. :)) I loved reading your description about the birth and whole experience. What a great blog you have here Morgan! Thanks for sending me the announcement link! --Becky Rogers (from the ward!)

Congratulations!! She is adorable. I love the name Margot. Don't worry-- with Libby we didn't decide on her name until right before we left the hospital, and I still wasn't 100% sold on it. But now I'm SO GLAD that we named her that, and can't imagine her as anything else. Whatever you choose will be just perfect! Also, when my parents had my older sister, they had the name Jacy, but just didn't use it. So there may be future girls who may be pefect for Tess or Maggie. You never know. But congrats again. She really is so beautiful.
