What I'll be doing today...

Did you know:
When a pregnant Plains Indian woman was near term and showed no sign of going into labor, tribe members would tie her to a rock in an open field and stage a mock "attack," pulling up their horses only at the very last minute, in hopes of inducing labor. The Pilgrims, for their part, would stand women whose babies were late against a pole, strap them to it, and pound the pole up and down against the ground -- apparently hoping to shake the baby loose.
All I need is a rock, open field and volunteers.
By the way, I have the exact same look on my face.

yikes.....all I did was clean my tub.....and BINGO!

Caster oil works like a charm(twice for me)....I drank it in a large cup(7-11 big gulp) of oj and lots of ice. Of course I had to throw the cup away because it smelled like the caster oil after that! I hear having a foot massage with a pedicure works...I guess there are pressure points that induce labor. Sounds a bit better than caster oil.

Hi- This is so random, I never do this, but I stumbled across your blog while searching for a nice beach in Dana Point, since we'll be vacationing there this summer. I loved your photos on Salt Creek Beach. Is it a very crowded beach? Where is it exactly in Dana Point and where do you park? Are there rocks/coral there to walk on? I wanted to take photos of my daughter there. What time of day did you go there? You can either leave a comment on my blog, or email me at: heathergeorge@byu.net
Thanks & good luck with that baby!!

It will happen...eventually!!! It always does! :) Poor thing...ohh, the waiting is the hardest part...

Hang in there Morgan! I'm sure it's not far away...and I hope it doesn't resort to mock attacks and pole pounding! Have you tried the usual spicy foods and sex? They seem a lot less stressful. :-)

You have ALL of my sympathy! And forget the pole, jumping jacks oughta do it! That or a sympathetic Dr willing to induce...

Geez! I wish I would have known that. We could have done it together!

That's crazy! thanks for the laugh. walk LOTS, that's what helped me go into labor with my girls

Oh my goodness ... that is TOO funny. I would help, but I am highly allergic to horses.

I laughed so hard at this! I have tried everything (except caster oil--Yuck!!!) and nothing. Black Cohosh always works and this time it's not, a hot shower and sex hasn't worked, dancing to Bob Marley with my kids didn't work, the nice thing is that the doctor told me I can wait two weeks if I'd like before inducing. Hooray for that (I really hate induction!) I'm praying for ya!

I went into labor the night of mother's day...it's a great gift! My mother takes credit for putting me into labor with spicy food...give that a shot!

Mother's Day would be the perfect day!

This part of pregnancy always stinks so much. My husband laughed when he came home to find me running on the treadmill holding my belly with one hand and my breasts with the other determined to make the baby come...This may be too much info but at this point it seems like you are in desperate need. My doctor told me to take a hot shower and have sex (I know last thing you are in the mood for)and the next day... miracle my little boy arrived.

How long are thy going to let you go before they induce? I'm so sorry that it hasn't happened yet. Good Luck!

You can do it! I went 40 weeks and 7 days and it was RIDICULOUS. I was so ready and I feel your pain! hang in there!!!

Have you tried drinking raspberry leaf tea? It's very good at getting you going! I drank a pint of it every day for 3 days and my last babe was born at the end of day 3. Use a little honey in it to sweeten it or add a berry flavored tea bag as it can be quite bland.

You poor thing...thank goodness society has evolved a little since then. I remember taking my sister to the mall when she was "10 months pregnant" & pushing her around in a wheelchair. We also ate at IHOP where she downed a large chocolate milk in one swig. It's funny now, but she didn't think so at the time. Hang in there, you'll make it.

Oh dear.
She's hit the delusional phase of "over-due".
Put the guys with the straight jacket on stand-by.
Hold on sweetheart .....
